Have had no experience with Barnetts, but the Easyriders crew swears by them, if that helps any.
Shops I've had good luck with are Baton Rouge HD, all bikes were below MSRP the last time I was in there, about 5 years ago.
The authorized dealership in the north part of Spokane had decent prices, a good selection, and an extremely competent mechanic crew.
Lakeshore HD in Chicago area was pretty good, with a very competent crew and nice selecton of bikes.
Downtown HD in Seattle is kind of pricey, but they know their stuff. Bandit, the boss at Easyriders magazine, uses a lot of their custom parts, and Drag Specialties had them build one of their cover bikes.
Other than that, I've had no success with authorized shops. I don't like the Evolution engine, friends of mine hae had hard times with the new Twin Cam 88, and for all intents and purposes, as far as I'm concerned, the REAL HD Motor Company went out of business in 1964, when the electric start 12 volt Panhead arrived on thwe scene.
Hope this was at least somewhat interesting, maybe even a bit helpful. I tend to get a bit longwinded sometimes where HDs are concerned, as I still pefer the classic models to any of the new bikes. But the savage will do alright for now.
